He who does not honour the Son, does not honour the Father who sent him.
Many people are prepared to believe that God exists as a certain higher being who in some way stands over all. Their readiness to believe in Him goes no further; therefore they have no true knowledge of God. One cannot speak of belief in its real sense.
Others are ready to believe that this God is the Creator of the entire universe. But they reject the thought that He is interested in His creatures by pointing out man's minute size in contrast to the great extent of the universe.
Then there are others who believe in God's moral authority and that He will one day judge the world. So they endeavour to do good and hope for a mild judgment. Such belief, however, cannot save them.
If anyone wishes to be truly clear on matters concerning God, then the helping hand must come from God Himself. He has extended it to us! He sent His Son; Jesus Christ, into the world, so that we can appreciate who and how God is: “No-one has seen God at any time. The only begotten Son, who is in the bosom of the Father, he has declared him” (John 1:18).
It is not possible to believe in the one true God and reject Jesus Christ or question His deity. No human being, no founder of any religion can reveal God to us. One alone can do that: He who “came forth from the Father” (John 16:28), who speaks from His own knowledge when
He speaks of the Father. Whoever wishes to honour God cannot bypass Jesus Christ, the Lord, for He is “the true God and eternal life” (1 John 5:20).
